I bought a used corolla. No problems but the ride quality is not that good. It rides rough even after me changing the shocks

My corolla is great for driving to work & short trips. It is a tight squeeze for a family of four with luggage.(I still have a lot of faith in Toyota & Im leaning toward a camry for my next car).

This is my second Corolla (the previous one having been a 1989), and I still love them. Despite what many car snobs have to say about the performance of the Corolla, I find it to be pretty darn good when you consider what else you get with this car -- safety and excellent reliability. The newer Corollas retain that safety and reliability and add a certain degree of style and performance, making for an overall excellent compact sedan.

  • Extremely Fun to Drive - 1999 Toyota Corolla

I’ve had only two problems after two years. One was with the belt tensioner, and the other, some very faint rattles from revving the engine so high all the time. Replaced tensioner myself. I HIGHLY recommend replacing stock tires with P185/65R14 Yokohama Avid Tourings. Stock suspension is inadequately stiff, but fine for average driving. Acceleration is absolutely wonderful. Ive smoked F150s, SUVs, cocky modified Civics and even a Mustang (not GTS). All in all, a very nice car.

  • Very Reliable - 1999 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car in 2000 after my H.S. graduation. I wanted something that would last me longer than a typical first car. I got what I wanted! This vehicle has carried me through several moves, college, and now a daily commute in my career. It handles well in snow and ice and have never had any issues with the A/C and heating. I have replaced the struts, tires, battery, and brakes - everything to be expected. Im at 100,000+ and still going! Some loss of pickup with passengers but overall, a great car.

  • Car of the century - 1999 Toyota Corolla

Im happy with Corolla I got, because is very reliable, no ifs and buts about it. Also is excellent in gas mileage department, especially for the size of the car. Im a tall guy, and I fit inside, just enough to be happy with it. A little smaller, and it would be a different opinion, and Im 6"1. Another thing I didnt know about this car, is, that is very cheap to fix too, for an import. Easy access to all car parts, and also it has an amazingly big trunk. What can I say, except that I will try to upgrade the year of it, and that I recommend it , to all people, and more to ones that do a lot of driving to work every day.

Owned the car for 6 years. The kind that you just fill with gas and drive, no need to ever open the hood. The stick feels as firm and smooth as in the day I bought it. Mid life crisis determines me to look for a flashier car. I wish I found a better reason to sell. Really feeling guilty about it. I can only hope that those tempting Acuras will be at least as dependable.

  • pretty cool, i think - 1999 Toyota Corolla

i bought this car with the purpose of doing pizza delivery - good job for a poor student, which on its turn defines the price range :). its quite impressive overall - stable, maneuverable, comfortable, fuel efficient, very quiet inside, somewhat fast (i believe manual is better). also pw, pdl, pm, sunroof, etc. there are also some cons, of course, which cannot spoil the good impression. there could have been more front leg room, the arm rest is far behind and cant be really used unless your arm has some strange form and the ashtray and the cup holders are ridiculously positioned. the pros are much more though.

This car is very good for driving distances. The gas mileage, I am happy with. The handling is pretty good. The only drawback, really, is the pick-up. The car does not accelerate quickly. That is really the only thing I would change. Its a great "school" care and one that will last you for a long time. I put about 22,000 miles since I got it in 2003 and have not (knock on wood) had any problems with it. Its a great car for the price. They could (which I think they did for 2007) make it a little sportier, for us young adults. Overall, dont pass it up for at least a test drive. The compartments and layout of the digits and the dashboard are great.
