Great car - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
By rla443 - January 5 - 8:00 amAfter 58000 miles, it has turned out ot be a great investment. I looked at Lexus, Audi, Volvo and Nissan and found most of the same features and better power for over 10,000 less (if buying used, beat the depreciation). Perfect reliability. Only two complaints. The visor broke and wont stay in the back position and It would be nice to have a greater range of adjustability in the power seat. I will definitely buy again. My wife only averages about 21-23 MPG but the price difference is worth it.

Hyundai - Keep Doing the Good Job - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
By sam - December 30 - 10:30 pmPut 800 miles in two weeks. Very quiet, smooth ride; Handling well; Luxury feel (LX model) with Sunroof and Sound systeim upgrade (Package 3). Very roomy; Lot of cargo space. Mixed city and highway driving between 20.5 to 22 mpg (non-agressive driving behavior); Great workmenship both interior and exterior. The Reliability index is just what Ive predicted. The actual could varies.

Exceeding expectations - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
By GumboGut - December 28 - 10:50 amThe Sonata has been quite an eye opener for my wife and I. We purchased this car after testing Toyota and Honda. We took a chance because of the lower price point and have been extremly impressed. The car is very quiet(except for trunk echo on very bumpy roads)and handles very well. The V6 stated off with OK MPG around 24.5 on the highway, but now with 12000 mile our last highway road trip of 650 miles earned us 29 MPG! For the power the V6 offers, that is pretty impressive. The car looks great and has nice interior features for the money. The warranty is incredible and certainly influenced our decision.

Excellent - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
By Dan - December 27 - 5:03 pmWe bought two brand new 06 Sonatas, one is Black (for me) the other is a "silver/gold" *depends on the lighting* (for the wife). They are both sharp looking and drive excellent. The seats almost feel like bucket seats, but you can move more freely. Also the shiftronic is awesome, with standard automatic transmissions you cant downshift to pickup speed when you are going up hill or need to pass somebody. Since we bought two we needed to save as much as possible and got the GL, it isn ot as nice looking on the inside as the GLS, but its still very classy. The trunk is huge, even bigger than my wifes old Accord. I love the keyless entry, when you unlock the doors the inside lights come on.

Best car for the money! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
By twinklez - December 17 - 7:33 pmBase on my two months of ownership, here is my review of the car. For about $17000, you get strong V6 engine, smooth shifting 5 speed shift- tronic transmission, very quiet ride, excellent handling for the car this size, decent mileage (I get 24 mpg at average speed of 34 mph on my commute), 6 air bags, 5 star crash protection, quite comprehensive standard features, nice exterior styling. This car was better in everyways when I compared this one with Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. The suspension was too choppy at first but after driving first 2000 miles or so, the ride improved significantly and still improving. Before you decide on Camry or Accord, be sure to test drive this one.

Great car under $20K - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
By Jackie Shroff - December 15 - 9:38 pmBought this 06 Sonata brand new. Now it has 33K miles and no problems at all. Wife drives it to work every day and a family car for the week-ends. Engine is powerful and quiet. Interior and trunk are very spacious. ABS brakes and ESC work as designed. Highway mileage is great, city could be better. Overall great car under $20K with power sunroof, ABS, alloy wheels. Great job Hyundai, will definitely buy another Hyundai car or SUV in next couple of years. No wonder Hyundais sales went up in this down car market while other car makers are suffering.

OK, Ill go first - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
By Houdsie - December 6 - 4:36 pmI upgraded from an 02 Elantra GT due to a growing family. My first thought of the redesign was the style falls more to Honda or Toyota, but I like it better than the 05s. Ive always driven standards and I was happy that I could get a midsize 5 spd that wasnt stripped of safety or comfort features. The 5 spd shifts smooth and with authority. Theres plenty of pep under the hood. The ride is quiet and smooth, but almost too soft. But thats compared to the GT. The interior is large enough for 3 car seats and nicely appointed. Compared with my Moms 03 Camry, I prefer the Sonata dash layout. All in all, a great value for a family hauler. It feels more luxurious than any other Hyundai.

Best purchase ever - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
By The happy buyer - November 23 - 12:53 pmMy wife and I bought this car 2 weeks ago and have never been more impressed with an up and coming car brand. Watch out Honda and Toyota, the new sonata is a phenominal car for the money and drives like a dream. The new body style competes and, in my opinion, looks even more sportier than the accord while serving a young families safety needs. I will definitly by another Hyundai, NO DOUBT.
