  One Great Van!! - 2000 Honda Odyssey

  I have had my van for about a year now. Its great! We have put many miles on our van because my husbands job was about 400 miles away from home. He would drive the van back and forth to come home on weekends. The van did great! We have absolutely no complaints! I plan on keeping this van for a long time and when I am ready for a new car I am planning on getting a new Odyssey!

  I bought my odyssey in 2000 brand new. Little did I know Inwould still be driving it 18 years later!!! It now has 147000 miles on it and asides from regular maintenance, all I have done is replaced an EGR valve for 400 dollars and repaired a seat retractor which cost 18 dollars and I did myself. Everything still works. Have had no problems with tranny, doors, paint or everything I have been reading will be a problem with thei vehicle, but then again I take very good care of my vehicles. I change the oil every 3750 miles , wax it and do all the maintenance. I am also an easy driver and keep it in the garage. I was able to get 27 mpg by myself driving highway speeds and driving 75 mph, 4 people with AC blasting it dropped to 23.5. Gas milage in City is awful, but I really do not do much city driving. The only dislikes of the vehicle are the harsh truck like ride, road noise and I have quite a few dash board lights out. But thanks to Siri, I can always ask for the time when I am driving at night. Seats comfortable on long trips. Can drive about 6 hours, wo discomfort. Brakes last about 60000 miles, battery’s last about 9 years and I am able to get 60000 miles out of every set of tires I buy

  Cold weather:60mph,no airconditioning,flat road,30mpg. Summer, flat road with airconditioning, 26mpg. 75 mph in the summer 24mpg. Summer city driving 18mpg Comfort: Long trips not acceptable. example:the brake pedal is in the way of your left leg, uncomfortable on an extended trip. The seats widths are too small by approximately 2" The right seat does not have power or adequate adjustment. The ride is HARD, after the 2nd day of driving, visions of an army truck.Interior finish is utilitarian. Staples are used to hold down the carpet over the spare! Body dents easily. BAD road noise! Easy access/egress Would not buy again.

  Perfect Vehicle for Family - 2000 Honda Odyssey

  This has been a perfect vehicle for a family of 5 that often travels with two relatives to fill all 7 seats. Great as a hauler to ski resorts on winter weekends, beach or mountains in summer. Not a single non-regular maintenance repair or service in 80,000 miles. Why do people pay the extra $$ for SUVs? We keep our cars for 8 years or more, but when it comes time to replace this Odyssey well definitely be Honda repurchasers.

  Bought it new and within 6mos the sliding doors were sticking and by 38000mi the brakes weremaking a grinding noise. the tires only lasted 27000mi. Now at 44000mi the crusecontrol quit working and the transmission lever is stuck and will be a major repair. thats right, you cant drive it if you cant get it out of park. i wont buy another one.

  We bought the 2000 Odyssdey at the "Honda non-negotiable price" because we had driven reliable Hondas in the past. Weve been had. The breaks have been worked on every year and squeek loudly all the time. It is on its third transmission. The passenger doors have been broke twice due to the seal. The dash shakes and rattles and is very annoying. Our friends drive Honda cars at our recommendation because of past experieces but we wont be recommending anymore. Honda better not rely on its name alone and forget why people buy Hondas

  We love Hondas but this one is a not really Honda. The ride quality is not really up to par, We are on our third incident with broken side doors that DONT open! Much to Hondas credit, they fixed them for free, but not the damage that the broken doors caused to the paint. We have a complaint in to Honda, our dealer Valencia Honda was non responsive. I want to sell it quick.
