This Year's Model Updates:

The Honda Accord -- one of America's favorite vehicles -- has been substantially changed for 2003. Continuing as a sedan and a coupe, the 2003 Honda Accord features more powerful and fuel-efficient engines, increased safety and higher levels of interior comfort. A voice-activated GPS navigation system is optional, and a sporty EX coupe debuts in early 2003.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined powertrains, comfortable driver seat, outstanding optional navigation system.
Cons:
  • Missing key features, relatively small trunk, mushy handling with V6.

  • Great Family Sports Sedan - 2003 Honda Accord

Im writing this review because Edmunds.com was such a valuable source of research when I was car shopping, and I wanted to return the favor. We recently bought a used 2003 Honda Accord EX v6 with 72,000 miles. Immediately I was struck with the aggressive acceleration of the Accord - this car is fast! I had driven Hondas in the past and always loved how tight they feel, both on road handling and interior components. Everything feels well considered and integrated. I bought this car primarily for my wife for her daily use. I drive it on long road trips (just logged 1,000 miles on the last one), and feel it is perfectly suited for our needs, reliable, safe (for when we have kids) and fun!

  • Best car Ive owned - 2003 Honda Accord

No problems in 75000 miles. Incredibly dependable and fuel efficient. I replaced the brakes at 70000 miles but had no other issues. We drove from Atlanta to Jacksonville, Florida several times and averaged 30 MPG at 70 MPH. Im only selling it because we bought an RV and a Chevy Van to pull it and no longer need the Honda. Well be sorry to see it go.

  • DONT BUY! - 2003 Honda Accord

Since we bought this car the transmission has gone out twice, the radio/cd went out and the A/C went out. Our transmission was replaced at 55,000 miles and now at 120,000 miles its out again! Honda says they know this is an issue, but are not willing to help. We are looking at another $3500!!!

  • Great Ride! - 2003 Honda Accord

Mine gets 30-31 mpg. Never had a problem, have 87,000 miles on the odometer. Mine is a 4 banger and it has all the power I need and I drive on I-45 (one of the busiest freeways in Houston) and I can get on the freeways without a problem. Great car!

Weve had our Accord EX for 2 weeks now. We went for a road trip through the Rockie mountains and even drove on unimproved dirt hi-ways. The car is extemely tight, no annoying noises while driving the rough roads, cd changer didnt skip a beat and the car road more smoothly than I anticipated after reading several complaints about the rough ride.We averaged 27.8 MPG on our 300 mile trip that weekend, cant wait to see what regular Hi-way driving gives us. Theres little road noise, even with the sunroof down. The navigation system is worth the money. I was suprised at how much information is at the tip of your fingers. Honda has done a great job here.

  • What a Difference !! - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

I just turned in my 2000 Acura Integra LX (Lease was up). What a difference in the ride, Its like day & night. Sooo much smoother. I bought the car Feb 19, 2003 and I really love the car. The body style is fantastic. I recommend that when you get the car put a spoiler on the trunk (it dresses the car up a lot) & a wind deflecter for the moonroof (it cuts down on the in-coming wind noise big time)

  • Honda Accord vs Nissan Altima - 2003 Honda Accord

I finally decided to test drive a Honda even though it has the simpliest styling on the planet. Everything about this test drive was PERFECT. The car accelerates well. It has all the features you want on a car. It is a nice car. The only problem is that it is not a HOT car. The Altima is hot but its features dont compare to the Accord. I definitely would choose the Accord over the Altima. The complaints about the Altima are brutal.

  • Considered for a Long Time - 2003 Honda Accord

Was torn between an Accord and used Audi A6. I love the A6 styling but was concerned about the reliability despite Audis excellent "Certified" program. But, when I drove an A6 and V6 EX back to back I felt the EX is only about 10% behind the A6 in terms of satisfaction. And when I weighed in the known reliability (I have a 1985 Accord LX with 256,000 miles on it) I simply couldnt justify buying the Audi. The fit, finish, comfort and power of the 03 Accord are great. But, I HATE the styling. If it werent for the fact that I forget about it when Im behind the wheel because the driving experience is so nice, I never would have bought it. Its that ugly!

  • great car, feels like luxury - 2003 Honda Accord

This car has been great. THe handling and performance is that of a BMW or lexus type. I have an 2001 accord also and the difference is tremendous. The interior is sleek and nice with the gray leather. The navigation system is also very nice. The only drawback is for my self who is 64" 300lbs the front driver seat become uncomfortable in the mid back area and requires some readjustment regularly. This is not a problem for my 57" 120lb wife. Great car which make you feel you are driving a 35K vehical for great price.

  • Havin Fun Now! - 2003 Honda Accord

For the money, its a solid "10". I have a very small problem with "window trim bubbles" and will ask Honda dealer to fix. People cannot believe its a Honda. A few asked if I paid less than $35,000. The people that stare the most are those that purchased last years model.
