This Year's Model Updates:

For 2000 3 Series coupes, convertibles and wagons are all new; the hatchback has been discontinued. After last year's complete redesign, 2000 sedans see only minor improvements.

Pros:
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners.
Cons:
  • Pricey for their market segment, limited rear seat and cargo capacity.

Great car...love the handling and such, what with the big wheels and tires and the way it turns.

  • Excellent Car - 2000 BMW 3-Series

Over 140,000 and still drives great! I have been diligent about maintenance and have spent around 1000/yr after warranty expired. Biggest disappointment: Replaced transmission at 120,000 miles.($4500). The handling is excellent. A car wash makes it look new. Purchased a 2006 convertible and I prefer to drive the 2000 Beemer. The car has not left me stranded. It has had minor repairs every year. I expect to drive it another 100,000.

  • Into my 9th year now - 2000 BMW 3-Series

I originally owned this car. With Sport Package. I gave it Michelin Pilot sport tires. Do oil change every 7k miles and had the engine opened up to seal a leak, the repair man said it is darn clean engine at 130k miles now. Learn to fix and replace some parts yourself and the car is reliably solid.

  • 328Ci - 4 stellar years and counting...! - 2000 BMW 3-Series

Fantastic combination of luxury and performance. Solid as a rock in all driving conditions - makes you a better driver than youreally are by rewarding you with razor-sharp handling, but being balanced and forgiving enough to allow you to correct mistakes. ...And it looks as good as it drives!

  • Engine light - 2000 BMW 3-Series

I have had my engine light go on about every other month. Little annoying things like VANOS, thermostat, gas cap. But it hasnt left me stranded. I have the 323i. I dont like the power although it isnt bad. I would opt for more tork. The drive itself is amazing!!!!

  • One Beautiful Bavarian - 2000 BMW 3-Series

This vehicle was one of the best investments I have ever made. BMWs keep their value so well. My car still performs and looks like it is brand new. This car is in mint condition and it has 45,000 miles on it. The engine still performs when you push it and the suspension and ride quality is second to none.

  • Electrical Nightmare.....BEWARE!!! - 2000 BMW 3-Series
    By -

Rear tail light burns out 3 months after purchase. Dealer took care of it with NO PAPER WORK. 8 months later, same light burns out. Service guy handed me 5 bulbs, NO PAPER WORK. I neglected to notice a few little electrical problems from a few months after purchase. After 3 years and 106,000 miles here are my electrical problems: Left rear tail light wont work, sun roof wont work all the time, headlights pulsate in intensity along with clicking sound in glove box, and this: door locks dont work all the time. I got the attention of BMW, USA and they paid HALF the cost $2,100! Why? Because I didnt document my electrical problems before my warranty expired.

  • I love my 328ci - 2000 BMW 3-Series

We all have our priorities and I like to spend my money on cars. You wont find another car which has this level of luxury & handling combined. The resale value is low which is why people like me can afford it. M52 engines have one big problem, around 100k kms you will need to replace all the parts used by the cooling system. Otherwise youll be making lots of trips over the next year or 10k kms. If you love BMWs combination of luxury & handling then you wouldnt mind spending money on cars.
