My Dream Come True - 1997 BMW 3-Series
By AndyMan - August 25 - 2:00 amEver since I read the rave reviews of Car and Driver and Motor Trend, I made up my mind that the BMW 3 series was my car. I finally got a 97 328i and I absolutly love it. I havnt had it long, but so far its been the most enjoyable car I have ever been in. The engine delivers the torque low and immediate, but the horsepower continues all the way to the red-line. The five speed sport transmission throws are a little long, but the overall smoothness of the entire package make up for it. From both performance and comfort standpoints, this car is by my favorite of any I have ever driven.

By G Man - July 7 - 2:00 amThis is an excellent overall car. The cargo capacity is excellent, while the car is well balanced and handles like a dream. Mine is equipped with the sport package, which is a must have, as well as a 5-speed manual transmission. While repairs can be costly, most are relativly simple and can be done in your own garage at a huge savings. For example, I did my own plugs for 30 bucks, and it took abut an hour.

Highly Recommend This Car - 1997 BMW 3-Series

I now also own a 540i, and when I get back into my 318is I marvel that it does NOT seem dinky/underpowered next to the 540. I tend to drive the 3 faster, as it feels zippy and theres such a feeling of control over the vehicle. It has the sports suspension, which I adore - it really does make a difference. I have the manual transmission, and the clutch is silky and wonderful. Visibility is phenomenal. Great gas mileage, reliability and safety w/this car. By the way, this car has the best cup holders EVER. Put a soda can in and drive like Mario Andretti? No problem here.

I have driven explorers,a nd Durangos but I love this car. 1985 BMW 524td (yes a Diesel) 1989 Volvo 240 GL Bow my 1997 E36 (318i) and I love it. Fun, zuppy, great mileage and its supposed to all be recyclable. Kudos BMW. Save the World.

By Johnnyboy7 - September 14 - 2:00 amMy favorite car of all time. I even once owned a 95 M3, but the 328is returns about 92% of the performance of its more viral cousin. And the cost of ownership is considerably less. I have spent no more than $1,000 (including a new battery, and thats it. I have 52,000 trouble-free miles. Best of all, I am never board when Im driving this car! I always enjoy my drive to work. It is truly made for people who actually like to drive it is the anti- SUV!!!!

By bjackson - June 25 - 2:00 amThis car has not only great styling but handles extremely well. I have had little problem and have had it in the shop for only minor adjustment during the three years that I have owned.
