Overview & Reviews
The front seatbelt buckles are now mounted to the seat frame, and sensors in the front-passenger seat alert the driver when an occupant is out of a safe position for the side airbag.

First Time - 2005 Acura TL
By First Acura - November 15 - 11:05 amJust bought a 2005 TL, it only had 16k miles on it, which is the main reason I bought it. I have driven nothing but SUVs and jeeps, so I was nervous about a car, but this thing rocks. It handles well, it is comfortable and looks great. I love it.

1st Acura - 2005 Acura TL
By Dr. Sprocket - October 5 - 10:00 amNice performance and auto transmission. Could use a slightly higher spring and shock rate, though it handles well for a more lux. oriented car. The TL can be slightly floaty feeling at higher speeds.

Consumer Best ??? - 2005 Acura TL
By gomaiznblue - September 10 - 1:53 amAfter extensive research and driving, I agreed that TL was a best buy. Leather seating is impressive. However, after 5 months I am extremely disappointed in the build quality. So many rattles, I feel like I am riding with a rattle snake inside. Fun to drive, Looks great, but I cant overcome the interior noise. I didnt expect this when I bought an ACURA. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!

Disappointing for a Honda/Acura product - 2005 Acura TL
By mark - April 5 - 5:36 pmI was attracted to TLs sporty exterior, upscale interior, and Honda/Acuras reputation. Overall the engine, transmission, and performance are definitely above average. Like most Honda cars, the TL is fun to drive. The powerful V6 does consume much gasoline with city pattern driving. In contrary to the powertrain, I cant say the same for its fit-and-finish noise problems: windows, suspension, back seat. I had mine taken in multiple times and all the dealership could say was the TL was "built that way". Very disappointing coming from such a large company. Ive even complained to Acura and no definitive fix was available.

Bitter sweet - 2005 Acura TL
By evanthemack - March 21 - 9:39 pmThe TL is a nice car with great design and performance. The acceleration is powerful but you must get it over 4000 rpm into the VTEC range. The engine whines and the instant you hit 4000 and deap throaty growls comes out. Its hangeling is good (for a FWD). I have had a few problems with the car: seized wheel bearing, broken power window, bent rim, and rattles galore.

Good car that lacks soul - 2005 Acura TL
By JDRTL - March 17 - 2:25 pmThis car does everything well but is a very dull driving experience (if anyone cares about that). I do care about that and unloaded this car after two years and got a German make which is more to my liking. I really wish I would have gotten the manual transmission as the automatic is incredibly un-sporty. It is a great value as everything is standard except the navigation system (which I highly recommend). Although it was only in once for an unscheduled repair, the car was getting creaky and rattling after 30,000 miles.

Looks good - 2005 Acura TL
By Looks good - February 19 - 5:58 pmTraded a SUV for this after owning BMW 3 and 5 series. I cant wait to get rid of this car. It looks good, but rattles and is very noisy. Not a fan of Japanese cars or front wheel drive. If you want looks, economy then this is for you. If you want performance go elsewhere.

Good Value - 2005 Acura TL
By jbarker007 - February 4 - 12:23 pmI decided to go back to the Honda line of cars, felt they were a better value than others. I am coming from a 99 Lexus ES 300, loved the car, but wanted something a little sportier. It took a little while to get used to the stiffer ride, but I have now adjusted and am having a great experience. I test drove the MB E320 before this car, and better sense came over me. Give me the TL and $20K cash any day. The Acura has a tight feel and great get up and go. I feel it is one of the better looking cars on the market, and the upkeep should be more cost effective than the other brands. Looking forward to many years with this car.

Noise, noise, & more noise - 2005 Acura TL
By Mohamad Halabi - January 10 - 3:53 pmSine the minute I left the showroom, I discovered weird buzzing noise coming fromt he drivers side window. Within a couple of weeks, I started discovering more noise from the glove compartment, the center console, the steering column, and the sifter area. After changing three dealerships, and seven visits, the noise is still there. Even my 99 Huyndai of few years back was much quieter!!!

Cars are for Driving - 2005 Acura TL
By Alex A - December 21 - 1:53 amAs good as this car is for the money, it falls short in driving dynamics to its German competitors. Its far from "bad", but after owning 2 VWs and 1 BMW, Ill take the German cars anyday for pure driving enjoyment. However, considering what you get in the TL for the $$$, you cannot go wrong. IMHO the TLs exterior design is gorgeous. Ive already brought the car to the dealer to replace the power memory switch. Normal in some German cars, but not normal for Acura. Overall, a great car for the American Market.
